AFC East Draft Grades (Rounds 1-3)

BUFFALO BILLS (Overall Grade - B)

1st Round (#17) - WR Josh Doctson (TCU)
Height: 6'2" Weight: 202 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: The move made perfect sense for a Buffalo team who lacked a true number one option. His ability to catch the ball in traffic gives the Bills something they don't currently have on the roster.
2nd Round (#48) - CB Mackensie Alexander (Clemson)
Height: 5'10" Weight: 190 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: The Bills needed to find help in their defensive backfield. In taking Alexander they took a player who slipped down the draft board. Alexander is a player who can play inside or outside and play with physicality.
3rd Round (#70) - DT Jonathan Bullard (Florida)
Height: 6'3" Weight: 285 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: The move up to get Bullard made all the sense in the world for Buffalo. Bullard's ability to play multiple positions gives the Bill flexibility immediately and in the future.

MIAMI DOLPHINS (Overall Grade - C+)

1st Round (#22) - MLB Reggie Ragland (Alabama)
Height: 6'1" Weight: 247 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: Ragland solved two position needs for the Dolphins in that he's an upgrade at middle linebacker while allowing Wagner to kick back outside. Ragland's size and versatility gives him a chance to be a very good player from day one.
2nd Round (#58) - DT Andrew Billings (Baylor)
Height: 6'1" Weight: 311 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: Billings is probably the strongest player in this draft; A former weight lifter, he's an extremely tough player to move. A bit of a luxury pick with two good defensive tackles; Billings makes that front perhaps the strongest and deepest in the league.
3rd Round (#76) - SS Miles Killebrew (Southern Utah)
Height: 6'2" Weight: 217 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: Killebrew is a big hitter in the same mold of another small school stud Jonathan Cyprien. A versatile defender, at worst he becomes a star special teams player as a rookie.
3rd Round (#95) - G Christian Westerman (Arizona State)
Height: 6'3" Weight: 298 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: Westerman is a very solid football player who may never be a star in the league. He's athletic for an interior player but has a bit of rawness in his game.

NEW YORK JETS (Overall Grade - A)

1st Round (#3) - CB Jalen Ramsey (Florida State)
Height: 6'1" Weight: 209 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: My number one player in the draft. Went third overall to the Jets. Ramsey's versatility and athleticism makes him perhaps the best defensive back prospect in the past decade.
1st Round (#14) - OLB Myles Jack (UCLA)
Height: 6'1" Weight: 245 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: The best cover linebacker in the draft. Jack's ability to man up on any player on the field makes him unique. Adding Jack to that linebacking corps makes it the best coverage linebacking group in the league.
2nd Round (#41) - HB Derrick Henry (Alabama)
Height: 6'3" Weight: 247 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: A luxury pick for the Jets. Henry provides a thumper and an extremely powerful short yardage back for New York.
2nd Round (#63) - WR Braxton Miller (Ohio State)
Height: 6'1" Weight: 201 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: For a team already with Tavon Austin, they drafted a clone. However, with Austin entering the last year of his contract and the general manager valuing versatility, Miller might play a very big role as a rookie.
3rd Round (#93) - DT Hassan Ridgeway (Texas)
Height: 6'3" Weight: 303 pounds
Draft Expert's Take: A talented kid with mixed results on the field. Ridgeway provided some needed depth on the defensive line.

Miami at it Again: Up Two More Spots to #21

The Dolphins are at it again pulling off a late night deal with the Washington Redskins to move up two more spots to #21 in Thursday nights draft by dealing their #23 pick along with the #76 pick (3rd round). Miami also received Washington's 6th rounder (#187).

Dolphins Jump Back Into First Round in Trade with Vikings

The Miami exit from the first round of Thursday's NFL Draft was short-lived as the wheeling-and-dealing 'Phins made a splash back into day one of the draft festivities in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings.
The Dolphins will receive the Vikings 1st rounder Thursday (#23) and a 2016 5th rounder (#160).
Minnesota will receive Miami's 2nd round pick (#36 from San Diego), tackle Luke Joeckel, a 2016 3rd rounder (#124) and a 2017 6th rounder (from the New York Jets in an earlier trade for LeGarrette Blount).
Miami's front office obviously has their eye on a certain player or position, but the team was coy when asked.
"We could go a lot of different ways," the owner said. "We need depth at quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive tackle."
You do not trade into the first round for "depth," so Dolphins fans should be excited for whom the team targets at #23 on Thursday.

Eagles & Jets Shake Up First Round Again

Although it surprised no one after reports began to flow out of Philadelphia that the franchise was desperate to land one of the top two quarterbacks in the draft, the Eagles pulled the trigger on a deal with the New York Jets to acquire the 2nd overall selection in the upcoming NFL Draft.
"It was time to move," Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman said. "We love both of these passers."
The Jets, now trading for a third time in the 1st round, moved back five spots to pick up the Eagles 1st rounder in 2017, their 2nd round pick in 2018 and a 3rd rounder in 2016 (while also swapping 4th rounders in 2016).

NFL Draft Trade Rumors - Jets Wanting out of #2?

All of the so-called experts fully expect the New York Jets to take either Carson Wentz or Jared Goff with the second pick in the NFL Draft (which is now only eight days away).
However, there have been multiple reports gaining traction around NFL Insider circles that have connected the Jets with the Eagles at #2.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that New York has been in contact with Philadelphia to potentially move back to #8 while acquiring additional picks in the 2016 and 2017 draft.
"Initially it was thought that San Francisco was coming on the strongest to try to get on of the top passers in the draft,"Schefter said. "But look for the Eagles to make a splash sooner rather than later."
With Cam Newton now in Cleveland, perhaps the New York brass believe that newly signed Chase Daniel is the solution under center until they feel that Bryce Petty can fully take the reigns.

Miami Dolphins Release Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick

In a stunning turn of events for the Super Bowl champions, the Miami Dolphins have released quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
After trading a 2017 7th rounder for the signal-caller out of Harvard, the Dolphins had a dream season with Fitzpatrick at the helm.
With only a 1-year contract agreed upon through 2016, with little guaranteed money, Fitzpatrick was rumored to want more guaranteed money and a longer contract and made it public that he was willing to hold out until he could receive a new contract.
With QB guru Adam Gase now hired as the new leader in Miami, the champions may be looking to go young behind center.
"We thank Ryan for all his hard work last year," Gase said. "But we are now looking forward."
Fitzpatrick could not be reached for comment.

AFC East Mock Draft (AFC East)

NEW YORK JETS - 2015 Finish (4th AFC East, 6-10)

1st Round Picks: #2 & #3
The New York Jets have earned the right to be the darlings of night one of the NFL Draft with their pair of board-shifting trades to acquire the second and third picks in the draft.
It is all but certain that one of the two selections will be at the quarterback position. With the Los Angeles Rams eyeing a passer at the first spot, the Jets may have pulled the trigger too soon and will be stuck with whomever the Rams deem less worthy at #1. Both Goff and Wentz have potential, but you can't help but believe that the Jets assumed the Titans were standing pat and looking to take Laremy Tunsil at #1 (leaving them the choice of Wentz or Goff at #2).
The Jets have also been widely linked to Joey Bosa to play next to Aaron Donald on the defensive line. The combination of Donald, Bosa, and Kawann Short would be one of the most feared in the league.
Projected Pick (#2): Carson Wentz (North Dakota State)
Projected Pick (#3): Joey Bosa (Ohio State University)

BUFFALO BILLS - 2015 Finish (3rd AFC East, 8-8)

1st Round Pick: #17
With the 17th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills must address their secondary. Despite the additions of Casey Hayward and Eric Reid during free agency, the Bills need outside help to complement their dominant rush defense. Eli Apple, Vernon Hargreaves, William Jackson and even Mackensie Alexander could all be in play at pick #17.
The Bills also desperately want to improve their tight end position. With Luke Willson joining the team from Seattle, the need became slightly less pressing in recent days.
Rex Ryan's crew has also preached often about "best player available," which could allow one of the many talented defensive ends or linebackers to come off the board with this pick.
Projected Pick: William Jackson (Houston)

MIAMI DOLPHINS - 2015 Finish (1st AFC East, Super Bowl Champions, 10-6)

1st Round Pick: None
After trading their first rounder to acquire San Diego's 2nd round draft choice and a pair of 3rd round choices (in exchange for picks in the 4th and 5th rounds) from the New York Jets, the Super Bowl 50 winners will most likely sit out Thursday's festivities.
The Miami front office has preached a philosophy of patience with the draft process while describing their intentions of stockpiling quality picks at the expense of "flashy" top end choices.
Nobody can argue with the direction of the Miami franchise after their impressive January/February run into the record books.
In round #2, with a pair of choices, we expect the Dolphins to address their nickel corner position while selecting a quarterback to sit and learn behind Ryan Fitzpatrick (Paxton Lynch or Connor Cook anyone?).
Projected Pick: None

Rex Ryan's Bold Proclamation: A Super Bowl Win for Buffalo in 2016

ORCHARD PARK – With the Miami Dolphins celebrating their unlikely championship, the New York Jets trading players like stocks, and the New England Patriots being, well...The Patriots, the Buffalo Bills have lacked in headline-grabbing storylines. Until Today.
Head Coach Rex Ryan called an impromptu press conference for a "big announcement."
"I wanted all you idiots in here to tell you one thing: The Buffalo Bills are going to win the Super Bowl next season," Ryan said. "This is not a joke thing. I saw all those Miami games and it was a joke. There's no way they even win the division if Aaron (Rodgers) stays healthy. It makes me sick that they got a championship."
Ryan went on to laud the front office's additions via free agency and trade. He was particularly impressed with the additions of safety Eric Reid and tight end Luke Willson.
"We added some quality starters and will continue to build through the draft," Ryan said. "I want to put our players on notice that it's a Super Bowl championship or bust for us. It worked for my Dad's guys (1985 Chicago Bears) when they declared it from day one and it will work for us too."
In a loaded AFC East, one thing is for certain: The Bills will be contenders in 2016 as well.

Jets at it Again: Strike for Third Pick in NFL Draft

NEW JERSEY – Days after dealing Cam Newton to the Cleveland Browns for Joe Haden and multiple draft picks, the front office of the New York Jets pulled off another stunning move to acquire the 3rd overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
The Jets, San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins collaborated on a 3-team deal with the following terms:

San Diego Chargers receive: CB Xavier Rhodes, 2016 1st round pick (#10), 2016 1st round pick (#31), 2016 4th & 5th round picks
New York Jets receive: 2016 1st round pick (#3)
Miami Dolphins receive: 2016 2nd round pick (#35), 2016 3rd round pick (#66), & 2016 3rd round pick (#78)

The deal gives the Chargers two first round picks in a defensively deep draft while collecting some later round depth as well.
The Dolphins move out of the first round to acquire an early second rounder and a pair of early third round picks.
The Jets now own the second and third picks in round number one and will dictate how every team now organizes their draft board.
"We are excited," Todd Bowles said. "We can continue our work with our quarterback research and then look at best available player from there."
Although the team signed quarterback Chase Daniel in free agency, spelling the end of the Bryce Petty era in New York, all signs point towards Carson Wentz or Jared Goff going to the Jets.
With New York also agreeing to terms with cornerback Sam Smith and linebacker Brandon Marshall, the Jets are also looking strong on the defensive side of the ball.

AFC East notes: The Buffalo Bills have agreed to terms with linebacker Mark Barron and cornerback Casey Hayward to shore up two glaring holes in their defense.

Blockbuster Trade Flys in the Face of Moneyball Philosophy

CLEVELAND – In a trade that had been rumored for months, Paul DePodesta sent a treasure trove of players and picks to the New York Jets for quarterback Cam Newton on the eve of free agency.
The Browns, under new leadership, now have a face of their franchise under center for the first time in over 20 years.
"It was time to solidify that position," DePodesta said. "Cam is Cleveland now."
Newton, who had been quiet since his mid-season benching, finally spoke up as he left the Jets.
"They are a clown organization," Newton said. "It's a joke over there. They tank for picks, bench their best players, and act like it's OK. I can't wait to play them next year here in Cleveland. It will be very personal for me."
To acquire Newton, the Browns gave up their 1st rounder this year (#2 overall), their 1st rounder next year, a 3rd round pick this year, and All-Pro cornerback Joe Haden.
"I'm shocked and excited," Haden said. "Playing for coach (Todd) Bowles will be a dream. I want to help create the best defense in football."

Rumors have already begun projecting Carson Wentz as the target for the Jets at the second spot.
"We haven't made our mind up yet," Bowles said. "We do need a quarterback and we are happy with the top two rated passers - we just need to do our homework."
The New York Jets now start free agency with Bryce Petty as the only quarterback on their roster.
"I hope I get the chance to start next year," Petty said. "We did well at the end of the season and I believe I can lead this team to a championship."

Joe Philbin Fired Days After Super Bowl Triumph

MIAMI – In a stunning turn of events, the Miami Dolphins ownership group has announced the firing of head coach Joe Philbin, just three days after winning the Super Bowl.
"Despite our current success, this is the direction we believe is best for our organization," the press release said. "We appreciate Mr. Philbin's contributions to our organization."
Reactions from Dolphins players was mixed to say the least.
"He is a nice guy," Thomas Rawls said. "But this did feel like a player-led team - I hope we get a coach who can instill some new ideas into our offensive philosophy."
Fullback Roosevelt Nix didn't mix words in his discussion of Philbin's abrupt removal.
"I'm gone too," Nix said. "There's no way I'd sign with Miami again - I'm loyal to coach Joe."
Rumors are already circulating that Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase is a strong candidate to replace Philbin in Miami.
TMZ.com reported that the firing had been planned after the team started the season 3-5 following an embarrassing loss to the Buffalo Bills. In a closed-door meeting, Philbin was stripped of play-calling duties and was told to use the rest of the season to "pad his resume" and that he would be fired once the season concluded. Newly acquired quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick allegedly became the team's "de facto" offensive coordinator with the defense having free reign to blitz at will with "nothing to lose."
"There is no truth to any of that," Fitzpatrick said. "Our coaches played a big part in our title run."
One rival AFC East exec had a differing opinion.
"You saw their playbook towards the end there," the executive said. "It was like watching Georgia Tech run the triple option - they had maybe six plays. They were good plays, but very predictable play-calling from coach Fitzpatrick."

2015 Season - Super Bowl 50

Green Bay vs. Miami

                                    1         2         3         4         FINAL

(NFC) Green Bay   0         17       3         0          20
(AFC) Miami           7         3         3         24       37

SANTA CLARA – Through three quarters it looked as if the Green Bay Packers (16-3) would be bringing the Lombardi trophy back again to its true home.
After Miami (14-6) tied the score at 20 apiece in the early stages of the 4th quarter, Tyrod Taylor led his NFC Champion squad on a methodical 67-yard drive into Miami territory to quickly regain the lead they had held for most of the game.
But Khalil Mack had different plans, violently blindsiding the Green Bay signal caller on a 1st down pass attempt, blasting the fumbled football 15-yards behind the point of contact. Reserve defensive tackle Chris Neild, known more for his outlandish beard than playmaking ability, grabbed the ball at his own 30-yard line and would not be caught until he crossed the goal line with the go-ahead score.
“Khalil deserved that MVP honor,” Neild said. “I played three snaps all game and was just fortunate enough that number three worked out the way it did. I can’t believe I made it – I saw him (runningback Eddie Lacy) coming and I’m just lucky he caught me as I scored.”
Mack and his defensive running mates sacked Taylor nine times on the day (breaking the Super Bowl record for sacks in a game previously held by the 1985 Chicago Bears who had seven in their win over the Patriots in Super Bowl XX).
After the Neild score, Taylor and the stunned Packers were forced to punt, leading to a Justin Tucker field goal to push the lead to 10. On the ensuing possession, Taylor was strip-sacked by Leonard Williams. Marcel Dareus had a chance to scoop-and-score, reminiscent of his 2010 BCS National Championship interception for a touchdown versus Texas -  but the defensive tackle chose to lie down and begin the celebration early.
“It’s a dream,” Dareus said. “I got one (championship) in college (Alabama) and now here in Miami – so amazing!”
After starting the season 3-5, the Miami Dolphins won seven of their last eight regular season games to win the AFC East. Their playoff run has been historic with their offensive production and the defenses attacking play during the AFC Championship and Super Bowl games.
The Lombardi trophy is headed to South Beach.

2015 Season - AFC Championship

New England @ Miami

                                                1         2         3         4         FINAL

#5 NEW ENGLAND           7         7         7         0         21
#3 MIAMI                            7         10       3         10       30

MIAMI – With time running out late in the 4th quarter and his team in prime position to take the lead despite trailing 21-23, New England’s (12-7) LeGarrette Blount was tasked with chewing the clock and working his team into field goal range and towards the end zone.  On a 2nd-and-4 from the Miami 6-yard line, Blount took a vicious hit from Miami (13-6) linebacker Bobby Wagner at the line of scrimmage, fumbling the ball. With nothing but green grass in front of him, defensive end Courtney Upshaw scooped up the Blount fumble and ran 92-yards into the end zone while punching his team’s ticket to Super Bowl 50.
“Surreal,” Wagner said. “I don’t think he saw me coming – it felt good.”
After back-to-back offensive explosions, the Miami offense was grounded against a gritty Patriots squad playing without their leader Tom Brady.
The Miami defense gave up 379 passing yards to the Brett Hundley led attack, but were able to pile up three takeaways and six sacks while allowing only 32 yards rushing.
“It was a defensive game today,” Leonard Williams said. “We had to get after them – I’m just so happy right now.”
Williams was named the game’s Most Valuable Player with his 4-sack performance on his way to the Super Bowl.
Now 10-1 in their last 11 games, the Miami Dolphins will face the NFC Champion Green Bay Packers (16-2) in Super Bowl 50 two weeks from today.

2015 Season - Divisional Playoffs

Miami @ Pittsburgh

                                    1         2         3         4         FINAL

#3 MIAMI                21       14       14       3         52
#2 PITTSBURGH   7         10       21       10       45

PITTSBURGH – The Miami Dolphins (12-6) strolled into town and bullied the Pittsburgh Steelers (11-6) all afternoon long defeating the home side 52-45 to advance to the AFC Championship game.
Much maligned passer Ryan Fitzpatrick silenced some critics with a 245 yard passing day to go along with four scoring throws. The signal-caller out of Harvard has been called a game-manager and a has-been throughout the season due to his lack of use under center, but put some of those critics out to pasture with a cool and efficient day in a hostile environment.
“I heard the crowd chirping all game long,” Fitzpatrick said. “Chanting about the Ivy League and making fun of the car I drive, stuff like that. At the end of the day we silenced them pretty well.”
To his credit, Ben Roethlisberger attempted to will his team back after the 35-17 halftime deficit, with 448 yards passing and five touchdown passes.
“It wasn’t enough,” Roethlisberger said. “We will move forward from this one and try to get better next year.”
After an upset in Denver, the Dolphins will get a chance to host next week’s AFC Championship against the New England Patriots (12-6) who are still without the services of Tom Brady (injured Week 17 versus Miami).

2015 Season - Wild Card Playoffs

Cincinnati @ Miami

                                    1         2         3         4         FINAL

#6 CINCINNATI     7         7         0         0         14
#3 MIAMI                7         17       17       9         50

MIAMI – Marvin Lewis’ postseason failures continued with the most embarrassing loss in franchise history as the Cincinnati Bengals (9-7-1) were demolished by the Miami Dolphins (11-6) 50-14 Saturday at SunLife Stadium.
Three Andy Dalton interceptions, all to defensive back Tramon Williams, and a porous rush defense that allowed 318 rushing yards to Thomas Rawls and company spelled disaster for the AFC North runners up during their nightmare trip to Florida.
“We were after them all day,” Williams said. “I was in the right place at the right time, times, I guess.”
Head coach Joe Philbin gave credit for the victory to a rival coach within his own division for helping his team prepare for their game against the Bengals.
“You know what, without Rex’s (Ryan) help and support coming up with this gameplan, maybe it turns out different,” Philbin said. “They beat them earlier in the year and Rex was willing to help me out leading up to the game – so I’m grateful for that.”
Rawls finished with 155 yards rushing on the day with a score to put another feather in his cap in what has been a magical 2015 campaign.
“We gotta keep it rolling in Pittsburgh man,” Rawls said. “Maybe we have destiny on our side!”
Miami will travel to the Steel City to take on a tough Steelers (11-5) team that has yet to lose at home in 2015.

2015 Season - Week #17

New England @ Miami

                                    1         2         3         4         FINAL

NEW ENGLAND     14       6         3         8         31
MIAMI                      14       14       3         3         34

MIAMI – After a wild first half that saw a 104-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Miami’s (10-6, 4-2 AFC East) Cordarrelle Patterson and a combined 48 points scored by both teams, the Dolphins took home the AFC East crown against the New England Patriots (10-6, 2-4) 34-31 Sunday in Miami.
A vicious hit by Miami’s Leonard Williams put Tom Brady out early in the third quarter – the second time a Dolphins player has caused Brady to miss important playing time this season.
“There’s not much to say,” Brady said. “They aren’t malicious hits, but there is a pattern there.”
Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for only 132 yards on the day but did not have a turnover compared to two touchdown passes – one a 45-yarder to Jeremy Kerley.
“We stayed within ourselves for sure,” Fitzpatrick said. “I’m proud of our receiving corps for staying in there all year and I’m glad we’re giving them some looks now.”
Despite a fumble in the 3rd quarter, Thomas Rawls had another solid outing with 100 yards rushing on the day.”
“We are division champs,” Rawls said. “It feels great – now it’s time to get ready for the playoffs.”
The Dolphins will host the Cincinnati Bengals in the #3 versus #6 AFC Wild Card matchup on Saturday.

New York @ Buffalo

                                    1         2         3         4         FINAL

NEW YORK              0         7         6         21       34
BUFFALO                 3         7         7         18       35

BUFFALO – A wild and wacky affair ended with the Buffalo Bills (8-8, 3-3 AFC East) eking out a 1-point win over the New York Jets (6-10, 3-3).
In a game in which no team seemed to want to win, the Bills somehow managed to come on top before the final whistle.
"Ghastly," Rex Ryan said. "Probably one of the most disgraceful games I've ever been a part of."
Early in the first half, Buffalo's Todd Gurley broke the NFL's single-season reception mark (previously held by Marvin Harrison) before ending the day with 8 total catches to put his season total at 150.
"That's a lot of touches," Gurley said. "I'm just grateful the coaching staff has trusted me so much throughout the year."
New York's Todd Bowles will receive much criticism for electing to kick the PAT after a late touchdown instead of going for the 2-point conversion and a chance at overtime.
"I felt like we had a better chance to get the onside kick,"Bowles said. "I wanted the team to stay hungry so we could win it in regulation."

With the loss, the Jets locked up the #10 selection in the upcoming NFL Draft while the Bills will choose at #17.
"We need some corner help certainly," Aaron Donald said. "No disrespect to the guys we have, but we have some expiring contracts and I'd love to see some dogs back in our secondary."

2015 Season - Week #16

Indianapolis @ Miami

                                    1         2         3         4         FINAL

INDIANAPOLIS      0         17       0          0         17
MIAMI                      7         14       24       21       66

MIAMI – During his midweek press conference, head coach Joe Philbin said he was finally ready to take the “training wheels” off of his Miami Dolphins (9-6, 3-2 AFC East) offense and to let his defense loose against the Indianapolis Colts (8-7) in the upcoming must-win game. When the dust settled on the rain-soaked SunLife Stadium turf, the Miami Dolphins jumped emphatically back into the playoff discussion by a score of 66-17.
“I don’t know what to say,” Thomas Rawls said. “That’s a crazy video game score. I even thought about not scoring that late one, but coach preached all week to put it on them, so I couldn’t slow down.”
Rawls finished with 215 yards rushing on the day with two touchdowns, including the 78-yard run with 3:00 to go in the 4th.
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, without the afore-mentioned training wheels, threw for 220 yards on 18-23 passing with three touchdowns.
“It felt great to break that 10 pass attempt mark,” Fitzpatrick said. “It was a great gameplan for sure, but the credit goes to our defense.”
With a defensive aggressiveness similar to the blitzing style of the ’85 Bears, the Miami defense blitzed on 70% of their snaps causing 4 fumbles (recovering 3), scoring twice, and sacking Andrew Luck six times.
“We were all mad about last week in San Diego honestly,” Bobby Wagner said. “We were tentative, scared, and conservative. We made a point to go for the knock out every play and it worked today.”
Wagner forced two of the fumbles, picked up a sack, and spent the majority of the day in the Colts backfield.
The Dolphins stay home to face division-leading New England (10-5, 2-3) next week with the division title on the line.

Dallas @ Buffalo

                                    1         2         3         4         FINAL

DALLAS                   10       0         0         17       27
BUFFALO                 7         6         3         3         19

BUFFALO - A 4th quarter meltdown by EJ Manuel ended the Buffalo Bills (7-8) hopes of postseason play in 2015.
Leading 16-10 early in the final period, Manuel threw two ill-timed interceptions to quickly give away the 6-point lead eventually leading to a 27-19 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys.
"I blew it," Manuel said. "Simple as that."
Runningback Todd Gurley continued his record-setting pace with 10 more receptions putting him within two catches of breaking the single season reception record held by Marvin Harrison (143).
"It's cool and all, but I'd love to be in the playoffs," Gurley said. "We are young though - we will be strong next year."
The Bills end their 2015 season next week against the Jets.

New England @ New York

                                    1         2         3         4         FINAL

NEW ENGLAND     3         0         7         7         17
NEW YORK             10       3         7         0         20

NEW JERSEY – The New York Jets (6-9, 3-2 AFC East), with no playoff prospects, shocked the New England Patriots (10-5, 2-3) to set up a Dolphins/Patriots AFC Championship game next week in Miami.
Xavier Rhodes flipped the game on its head with a 3rd quarter interception for a touchdown from inside his own endzone.
"I just know what this team will be capable moving forward," Rhodes said. "We showed a lot today to keep them (New England) from winning the division."
Todd Bowles relied heavily on his offensive line and their running game to neutralize the lethal Patriots attack.
"That was the plan (running the football) all week," Bowles said. "Marshall (Yanda), Travis (Frederick), and Zack (Martin) controlled the middle and David (Johnson) had a great game."
The Jets are set to travel to Buffalo for the last game of their 2015 campaign to take on the Bills (7-8, 3-2).
