Packers Stay Perfect, Beat Falcons 27-20
GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Packers' rebuilding season continues to go terribly wrong — at least according to the tanking plan.
Green Bay improved to 3-0 with a 27-20 home victory over Atlanta, powered by Ray Davis' 91 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Packers remain the 3GML's only unbeaten team, leaving GM SD with an increasingly awkward question: How do you rebuild a team that refuses to lose?
Chargers, Bills Battle to Wild 38-38 Tie
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The defending champions finally avoided a loss. Unfortunately, they also avoided a win.
Los Angeles and Buffalo played to a 38-38 overtime tie, with both teams finding the end zone in the extra period. Matthew Stafford threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Chargers improve to 0-2-1.
After a Super Bowl season defined by finishing games, the Chargers have now gone three weeks without finishing one with a victory.
Woolen's Pick-Six Lifts Texans Over Colts, 25-23
INDIANAPOLIS — Houston finally has a win, and once again, the defense deserves much of the credit.
Riq Woolen returned an interception 71 yards for a touchdown, providing a decisive spark in the Texans' 25-23 road victory over Indianapolis. After two frustrating home losses and an offensive coordinator change, Frank Ross' team improved to 1-2.
The offense remains a work in progress under interim coordinator Dino Babers, but Houston can finally spend a week discussing something other than a loss.
Warren Strengthens MVP Case as 49ers Beat Cardinals 37-19
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The 49ers have officially shaken off their Australian hangover.
San Francisco defeated Arizona 37-19, improving to 2-1 behind another dominant performance from Jaylen Warren, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns.
After posting 152 yards and three scores against Miami, Warren has amassed 297 rushing yards and five touchdowns in just two weeks.
The early 3GML MVP front-runner isn't a quarterback. He's the running back who keeps making Kyle Shanahan's offense look unfair.
