2025 3GML Season - Week 3

Texans Make Unwanted History in 33-28 Loss to Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Houston Texans hit rock bottom on Sunday, becoming the first team in NFL history to allow three separate 100-yard rushers in a single game in their 33-28 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Trevor Lawrence stunned by tucking and running for 105 yards of his own, while Travis Etienne (105 yards, TD) and Tank Bigsby (102 yards, TD) joined the rushing parade. In total, the Jaguars piled up a staggering 509 yards of offense, leaving Houston’s defense in shambles.

Despite Drake Maye and the offense scratching out 28 points — usually more than enough to win — the Texans’ defense was so porous that even head coach David Shaw, normally the picture of calm, looked like a man at his wit’s end.

When asked postgame what he would say to defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard in the locker room, Shaw replied coldly: “I don’t know, Jim isn’t welcome in the locker room after that performance.” The room erupted in laughter, but Shaw’s face remained unreadable. He turned and walked into the locker room, leaving the press corps stunned into silence.

Reports soon confirmed Leonhard had been fired immediately, with linebackers coach Aaron Curry stepping in as interim defensive coordinator. As if the debacle couldn’t get more surreal, Leonhard was later spotted wandering the streets of downtown Jacksonville. Witnesses said the Texans didn’t even provide him cab fare.

By Monday morning, rumors swirled that Leonhard had managed to hitchhike home — not in a car, but on a cargo plane bound for a small airfield just north of Houston.

For Houston (2-1), the loss isn’t just another mark in the standings — it’s a sobering reminder that their “talented but underachieving” defense must turn things around quickly, or more changes may be coming.

Packers Storm Back to Beat Browns 23-13

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Green Bay Packers flipped the script on Sunday, erasing a sluggish first half to beat the Cleveland Browns 23-13 on the road.

Cleveland controlled the opening half, putting up all 13 of its points before halftime behind steady defensive play and timely offense. But after the break, the Packers found another gear. Green Bay scored all 23 of its points in the second half, leaning on explosive plays from their stars to secure the win.

Wide receiver Justin Jefferson was the spark, catching eight passes for 117 yards and a touchdown as he consistently found holes in Cleveland’s secondary. On defense, it was a homecoming performance for pass rusher Myles Garrett. Facing his former team, Garrett racked up 1.5 sacks and an eye-popping eight tackles for loss, disrupting the Browns’ protection and shutting down their ground game.

For Garrett, the game carried extra meaning but little sentimentality. “Coming back here, I wasn’t thinking about memories or emotions — just business,” Garrett said. “My job is to dominate up front, no matter who’s on the other sideline. Today was about getting this team a win.”

The Packers (3-0) remained unbeaten to start the season, showing resilience in hostile territory, while the Browns (1-2) were left frustrated after failing to sustain their early momentum.

49ers Fall to Cardinals 20-16, Drop Second Straight

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers stumbled for the second week in a row, falling 20-16 to the unbeaten Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Quarterback Jordan Love once again struggled with consistency, completing just 57% of his passes as the 49ers’ offense failed to sustain drives. Love admitted afterward that mechanics may have been part of the problem. “I’ve got to go back and look at my footwork — I felt off at times, and that shows up in the accuracy,” Love said.

Arizona, meanwhile, leaned on the dynamic play of Kyler Murray. The Cardinals quarterback hurt San Francisco repeatedly with his legs, rushing for 93 yards and scoring both of Arizona’s touchdowns on the ground.

The loss drops the 49ers to 1-2, while the Cardinals moved to 3-0 and cemented themselves as the early surprise of the NFC West.

Chargers Dominate Broncos, Stay Perfect at 3-0

DENVER (AP) — The Los Angeles Chargers look every bit the early-season juggernaut after a 27-3 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, fueled by another monster outing from Christian McCaffrey and a defense that is playing at an elite level.

McCaffrey carried the Chargers’ offense, pounding out 254 rushing yards on 31 carries and wearing down Denver’s front throughout the game. His blend of vision and power left the Broncos with no answers.

On the other side of the ball, the Chargers’ defense was smothering. They limited Denver to just 172 total yards, closing lanes in the run game and making life miserable for quarterback Bo Nix. Through three weeks, the unit is building a case as one of the league’s best, combining speed off the edge with lockdown play in the secondary.

The win puts Los Angeles at 3-0 overall and, perhaps more importantly, 3-0 in the AFC West. In a division often defined by razor-thin margins, stacking early wins against rivals could prove pivotal in December.

2025 3GML Season - Week 2

Chargers Rally Past Raiders 31-28 in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Los Angeles Chargers stormed back with 21 fourth-quarter points to stun the Las Vegas Raiders 31-28 on Sunday, improving to 2-0 in division play.

After trailing 17-3 in the third quarter, Matthew Stafford steadied the offense and finished with 251 passing yards and two touchdowns. But once again, it was Christian McCaffrey who carried the load and fueled the comeback. The veteran running back shredded the Raiders’ defense with 148 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while also adding 68 receiving yards and a touchdown through the air.

“This team doesn’t panic,” McCaffrey said. “We knew if we kept grinding, the opportunities would come, and in the fourth quarter everything clicked.”

The Chargers’ offense roared to life late, controlling possession and piling up points while their defense forced key stops to give Stafford and company repeated chances.

The win moves Los Angeles to 2-0 overall and in AFC West play, setting up momentum for what looks like an early-season push toward the top of the division standings. The Raiders, meanwhile, fell to 0-2 and are left searching for answers after letting a double-digit lead slip away at home.

Texans Outscore Buccaneers 39-31, Move to 2-0

HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans leaned on their offense once again Sunday, pulling out a 39-31 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to remain unbeaten at 2-0.

Houston’s defense was expected to be the hallmark of the season, but two weeks in, it’s the offense that’s carrying the load. The Texans have now given up 31 or more points in consecutive games, raising questions about their ability to hold up over the long haul. Still, timely turnovers made the difference in this one. Safety Jabrill Peppers and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed each came up with key interceptions that halted Buccaneers drives and kept Tampa Bay from closing the gap late.

On the other side of the ball, Houston continued to score at will. Quarterback Drake Maye spread the field and kept drives alive, while Derrick Henry bulldozed his way to 85 rushing yards and a touchdown, once again moving the chains and wearing down the defense.

“We’re not happy about giving up that many points,” Texans coach David Shaw said, “but winning is winning. And until the defense gets to where we want it, our offense has shown it can handle the pressure.”

With the win, Houston (2-0) keeps pace early in the AFC race, while Tampa Bay (0-2) leaves frustrated after another high-scoring defeat.

Packers Defense Smothers Commanders in 27-3 Win

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers leaned on a relentless defense and a powerful ground game to take down the Washington Commanders 27-3 at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

From the opening whistle, Green Bay’s front seven made life miserable for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Myles Garrett and Ernest Jones IV each came up with interceptions, and the Packers’ pass rush battered Washington’s offensive line, forcing Daniels into hurried throws and broken plays all afternoon.

On offense, it was the Isiah Pacheco show. The running back gashed the Commanders’ defense for 155 rushing yards and two touchdowns, consistently breaking into the second level and keeping the chains moving.

“This is exactly how we want to play — defense flying around and the run game setting the tone,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said. “When we play complementary football like that, we’re tough to beat.”

With the win, Green Bay improved to 2-0 on the season, sending a message that their combination of defensive dominance and ground control could be the recipe for another deep run. The Commanders, meanwhile, dropped to 0-2 and will have to regroup quickly.

Saints Hand 49ers First Loss, 27-14 in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers came into Week 2 riding high off their opener, but left New Orleans humbled after a 27-14 defeat at the hands of the Saints.

Quarterback Jordan Love struggled from the start, looking out of rhythm against a Saints defense that disguised coverages and tightened up on key downs. Love completed just 45% of his passes, finishing with two touchdowns and two interceptions, but never able to establish a consistent rhythm for the offense.

On the other side, New Orleans leaned heavily on veteran running back Alvin Kamara, who shredded San Francisco’s interior defense for 104 rushing yards and a touchdown. His ability to find lanes inside kept the Saints ahead of the sticks and wore down the 49ers’ front seven as the game wore on.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan didn’t mince words postgame, visibly frustrated with his team’s lack of urgency.

“That wasn’t us out there. We got outplayed, outworked, and out-executed in every phase. If we want to be taken seriously this season, that effort can’t ever happen again,” Shanahan said.

The 49ers (1-1) will look to regroup quickly, while the Saints (1-1) walked away with a big win over one of the NFC’s contenders.

2025 3GML Season - Week 1

Chargers Dominate Chiefs in Brazil, 27-6

SÃO PAULO (AP) — The Los Angeles Chargers opened their season in style, shutting down the Kansas City Chiefs 27-6 on Sunday in Brazil.

The Chargers’ defense was the story of the game, holding Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to just 180 total yards of offense and no touchdowns. Haason Reddick led the way with three sacks as Los Angeles controlled the line of scrimmage.

“This defense came to make a statement today,” Reddick said. “We knew if we got pressure and kept our energy up, we could keep them out of the end zone. That’s exactly what we did.”

On offense, the Chargers leaned heavily on Christian McCaffrey, who delivered a monster performance with 234 rushing yards and two touchdowns. His explosive runs consistently broke through the Kansas City front, helping Los Angeles (1-0) build and maintain its lead.

The Chiefs (0-1), meanwhile, never found a rhythm and will look to regroup after one of their most lopsided losses of the Mahomes era.

With the win, the Chargers not only started their season strong but also made an early statement that they intend to be contenders in the AFC playoff race.

Texans Edge Rams in 41-38 Shootout

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Houston Texans outlasted the Los Angeles Rams 41-38 on Sunday in a wild back-and-forth game that saw both offenses trade blows until the final whistle.

Running back Derrick Henry was a force for Houston, dragging tacklers for tough yards and finishing with 83 yards and a touchdown. Rookie quarterback Drake Maye showed poise in the shootout, throwing for 303 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions while keeping pace with one of the league’s best.

On the other side, Justin Herbert looked every bit like an MVP candidate for Los Angeles. He carved up Houston’s defense with 389 yards and four touchdowns, keeping the Rams in it until the very end.

Ultimately, Houston’s ability to finish drives proved the difference, as Maye spread the ball around and Henry iced the clock late. The Texans (1-0) opened their season with a statement win, while the Rams (0-1) will leave wondering what more Herbert could have done.

“This was about staying composed,” Texans head coach David Shaw said. “Our guys matched every punch and found a way to make one more play when it mattered.”

Packers Hold Off Lions’ Rally, Win 31-24 at Lambeau

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers opened their season with a 31-24 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, fending off a furious late rally led by Jared Goff.

The Packers built a commanding 31-14 lead, sparked by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s dual-threat performance. Tua accounted for all four Green Bay touchdowns — two through the air and two on the ground — finishing with 224 passing yards, two interceptions, and a previously unseen ability to improvise outside the pocket.

Running back Isiah Pacheco helped open up the offense, grinding out 98 yards at a clip of 6.5 yards per carry, keeping Detroit’s defense on its heels.

But the Lions weren’t done. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs burned Green Bay’s secondary, posting 119 yards and three touchdowns, including two scores in the second half to bring Detroit within one possession. The Lions even recovered an onside kick in the closing minutes, but Green Bay’s defense stiffened to preserve the win.

“This league is never easy,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said. “We made it harder on ourselves late, but we’ll take the win and learn from it.”

The Packers (1-0) move into early control of the NFC North, while the Lions (0-1) will look to regroup after a near comeback that came up just short.

49ers Dominate Seahawks 48-7 in Seattle

SEATTLE (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers rolled to a 48-7 rout over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, putting together one of their most complete performances in recent memory.

San Francisco’s offense clicked on all cylinders, racking up 469 total yards while the defense suffocated Seattle, holding the Seahawks to just 158 yards.

Quarterback Jordan Love orchestrated the attack with efficiency, throwing for 237 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. On the ground, Jaylen Warren provided the balance the 49ers have been searching for, powering his way to 184 rushing yards and two touchdowns behind a dominant offensive line.

Defensively, linebacker Drue Tranquill delivered a statement performance with 10 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception, leading a unit that never let Seattle breathe.

“We wanted to set the tone for the season, and that’s exactly what we did today,” Tranquill said. “When the offense and defense play like that together, we’re tough to beat.”

The 49ers (1-0) start their season with a convincing division win, while the Seahawks (0-1) will need to regroup quickly after a humbling defeat at home.

3GML Preseason Power Rankings

1. San Francisco 49ers

After reaching the Super Bowl and returning much of their roster, the 49ers enter 2025 as the team to beat. Jordan Love is coming off an MVP campaign, and with CeeDee Lamb, Jalen Coker, and Ladd McConkey as weapons, the offense is among the league’s most dangerous. Add in a defense that creates turnovers in bunches and just added playoff experience, and San Francisco looks poised for another deep run. The biggest question: can they finally get past Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs?

2. Green Bay Packers

The Packers were just a step away from returning to the Super Bowl last year, and GM SD made sure the defense won’t be the reason they fall short again. Trading for Myles Garrett gives Green Bay a true game-wrecker up front to pair with their playmaking linebackers and young secondary. On offense, Tua Tagovailoa has Jefferson, Odunze, and Pacheco as a dynamic trio. If Garrett elevates the defense the way many expect, Green Bay could easily flip spots with San Francisco by season’s end.

3. Houston Texans

Houston enters the year as a fascinating wild card. Drake Maye flashed superstar potential in his rookie season, and Derrick Henry proved he’s still a force. Adding Denzel Ward shores up a defense that struggled against top-tier passing games, but losing Deebo Samuel puts more pressure on young receivers to step up. If Maye continues to develop and Henry stays healthy, the Texans could be a dangerous playoff team again — but their margin for error is slim in a loaded AFC.

4. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers made the boldest move of the offseason, shipping out a first-round pick and Romeo Doubs to land Matthew Stafford. The hope is that Stafford provides consistency that Will Levis could not, but at 37, questions about durability remain. Christian McCaffrey and Najee Harris give LA a powerful backfield, and the defense has playmakers, but this roster still feels a step behind the heavyweights in the AFC. If Stafford stays healthy and connects with his weapons, the Chargers could sneak into the postseason — but their path is the toughest of the four.

Outlook: The NFC looks like a two-team race between San Francisco and Green Bay once again, while Houston is hoping to rise in the AFC and the Chargers are fighting for stability. Every team made bold offseason moves — now it’s time to see who can turn those gambles into wins.

2025 3GML NFL Draft Grades

3GML DRAFT GRADES

These grades are based on a number of different analysis, primarily how many good players did you add obviously. However, they are also based on working on team needs not just for this season but for year 2 and beyond on your roster. We are NOT giving these grades out based on players added with the picks, however. Therefore Matthew Stafford, Denzel Ward, Micah Parsons, and Myles Garrett do not factor into the grades. We’re going to go in order of first selection and will focus on value added vs the rest of the NFL. The point of the draft is to add more talent than the other teams in order to improve faster than they do, therefore grades here won’t be in A-B-C format but rather in comparison to the rest of the NFL.

  1. Houston Texans

The Texans began with the 19th pick and 7 overall selections before the draft started and yet didn’t take a single player at a spot they had before the draft started until midway through Saturday. GM TH maneuvered up and down the board throughout the draft, making 5 separate trades including two on Thursday night. The Texans moved from 19 to 23 and then again from 23 to 30 and yet still ended up with the player GM TH had been targeting the entire time, WR Luther Burden III. They continued to maneuver the board and turned their 7 picks into 10 by the end of the draft, and added a 6th round pick next season.

30.  Luther Burden III, WR Missouri - overall 9th

67. Kevin Winston, S Penn State - overall 54th

101. Deone Walker, DT Kentucky - overall 49th

109. Jack Sawyer, DE Ohio State - overall 45th

133. Joshua Farmer, DT Florida State - overall 90th

136. Jeffrey Bassa, LB Oregon - overall 141st

142. Mitchell Evans, TE Notre Dame - overall 104th

186. Cameron Williams, OT Texas - overall 73rd

201. Quinn Ewers, QB Texas - overall 139th

202. Joshua Gray, IOL Oregon State - overall 85th

The Texans went hard after needs two years down the road here in the draft. The Texans are losing two of their three safeties next year, as well as starting DT Javon Hargrave, and currently only have 2 starting DEs on the roster after this year. They also had big time needs at backup QB, LB, and TE and filled those with guys who look to at least be contributors and high floor players. Snagging 4 of the top 54 players, as well as 10 of the top 141 guys in the class is a tremendous floor start. GM TH did take some risks though here with Kevin Winston and Deone Walker having serious injury history and Luther Burden III coming off a season where he didn’t eclipse 700 yards. The class is exceptionally talented, fills holes, and comes at positive value, including adding 4 picks to where they started, but it doesn’t come without risks. The Bassa pick felt forced but, heading into the draft with only 3 LBs forced his hand here.

GRADE: Improved, top 5-8 draft.

  1. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have a big of dilemma on their hands in terms of really needing to add to a few rooms and definitely improve their depth. However, the 9ers only had their late first round pick and a late 3rd round pick to make serious moves. They maneuvered the board, however, adding an easy additional 5th in round 1 by sliding back one spot, and traded a couple of mid round picks to jump up in round 3, adding their likely starting RB in doing so. The team had the weakest RB room in the NFL last year and now walks in with someone who should be ready to roll immediately. GM CD also packaged a pair of picks to move up before day 3 began, consolidating his selections to walk the tightrope of adding starters and adding depth.

32. Josh Simmons, G/T Ohio State - 44th overall

83. Kaleb Johnson, RB Iowa - 97th overall

98. Jared Wilson, IOL Georgia - 71st overall

118. Billy Bowman Jr. S Oklahoma - 151st overall

130. Elic Ayomanor, WR Stanford - 50th overall

156. Elijah Robersts, DL SMU - 129th overall

185. Chase Lundt, OT UConn - 140th overall

211. Brashard Smith, RB SMU - 101st overall

212. Jared Ivey, DE Ole Miss - 62nd overall

The 49ers twice took the best player remaining on the board in this draft with Elic Ayomanor and Jared Ivey. They ended up adding 9 top 151 players in this class adding immense depth to the team and filling the teams’ two biggest weaknesses, OL and RB. Johnson and Smith add a filthy combination and should immediately help. The Bowman pick was the only one that felt forced, much like the Bassa pick for the Texans they came in with a huge need and felt obligated to add to the depth in the room. Simmons and Wilson likely both get starting nods as rookies with Simmons playing inside and Wilson maybe taking over at Center for last year’s draft pick Beaux Limmer. Lundt is a nice developmental piece that gives them more options down the road and Ayomanor gives them a dimension in their passing game they don’t currently have. This was well thought out and well executed, particularly considering the lack of ammunition coming in.

GRADE: Improved compared to the rest of the NFL, plus

  1. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are a fascinating team in that they pushed almost all their chips in just one season after drafting Will Levis first overall to go, not only get Matthew Stafford, but to surround him with even more weapons. They got Davante Adams as a WR3, yes as a WR3, and paid massive money to keep some free agents like Dayo Odeyingbo. They resisted the urge to trade Christian McCaffrey and now have an aging roster that is already significantly over the salary cap for 2026. They do have two easy moves to get them under the cap, in defense of GM BD, but they are all in on 2025. In doing so they didn’t have a first round pick but still have serious holes on their roster, including on the right side of the offensive line, and backups there, and at safety and linebacker depth, particularly with the uncertainty surrounding JOK’s long term health. They had to get some pieces in the draft to help long term and add more capital for cheap pieces moving forward.

#49 Los Angeles Chargers - S Xavier Watts (Notre Dame), 26th overall

#80 Los Angeles Chargers - G Marcus Mbow (Purdue) 53rd overall

#95 Los Angeles Charger  -  QB Shadeur Sanders (Colorado), 37th overall

#110 Los Angeles Chargers - TE Gunnar Helm (Texas) 120th overall

#138 Los Angeles Chargers - HB DJ Giddens (Kansas State) 178th overall

#153 Los Angeles Chargers - K Andres Borregales (Miami) he’s a kicker so idk

#170 Los Angeles Chargers - HB Devin Neal (Kansas) 159th overall

#233 Los Angeles Chargers - G Garrett Dellinger (LSU) 6th round grade

Mixed bag here for the Chargers but adding 3 of the top 53 players overall including QB2 was a bold and exciting move. Watts, Mbow, and Sanders all went much later in the draft which makes their selections both good and bad for the Chargers. He gets them all significantly cheaper and Sanders gives him a chance in year 3 to move on from Stafford with an already established QB if it all works out. Mbow was a very nice selection as he can play likely 4 or maybe even 5 of the offensive line positions which gives him a great floor as a 6th OL, a much needed spot for the Chargers. I wasn’t a huge fan of Giddens of Neal but they both look like complimentary backs and the Chargers may have no backs on their roster after next season. Overall pretty solid considering the lack of a first round pick. Watts will start immediately which helps the grade.

GRADE: Improved at the same level as the rest of the league, above average

  1. Green Bay Packers

The Packers used significant draft capital to go get Myles Garrett so if they could even hold serve in this draft it would be seen as a big time win. The Packers won the 2 previous Super Bowls and look intent on getting the Lombardi back, making the huge offseason push. The team is arguably the weirdest salary cap team in history, being unable to use enough salary cap space and barrelling toward a huge one time payment in 2027 to the rest of the roster to catch up - right in time for its teams major expenses to also come due. How they maneuver this is going to be unbelievably exciting to watch - insert Bill Hader eating popcorn gif here. The team needed to add cheap long term talent, but already had 52 guys on the roster heading into the draft. The fact they didn’t combine multiple picks to move up was something that did surprise me overall, and was something I expected that didn’t happen. A lot of their picks won’t make the roster.

#51 Green Bay Packers - TE Elijah Arroyo (Miami) - 38th overall

#62 Green Bay Packers - DT Darius Alexander (Toledo) - 52nd overall

#94 Green Bay Packers - WR Jaylen Royals (Utah State) - 124th overall

#102 Green Bay Packers - HB Dylan Sampson (Tennessee) - 80th overall

#135 Green Bay Packers - Edge Bradyn Swinson (LSU) - 35th overall

#139 Green Bay Packers - G Miles Frazier (LSU) - 162nd overall

#140 Green Bay Packers - LB Chis Paul Jr (Ole Miss) - 136th overall

#144 Green Bay Packers - QB Will Howard (Ohio State) - 148th overall

#169 Green Bay Packers -  CB Zah Frazier (UTSA) - 164th overall

#238 Green Bay Packers - TE Molika Matavo (UCLA) - UDFA

#246 Green Bay Packers - TE Luke Lachey (Iowa) - UDFA

#249 Green Bay Packers - T John Williams (Cincinnati) - UDFA

Taking 12 players and coming out of the draft with 66 guys on the roster is again, just wild GM’ing by GM SD. He’s certainly earned the benefit of the doubt here but he’ll likely need to try to wheel and deal or just end up with a solid chunk of guys getting cut and eating some dead cap. I also do question him not adding an actual NT in this draft as his team is currently made up of 3T-5T guys on the inside and not adding at least one FF seemed shortsighted. That said, he added a lot of talented pieces here and for not having a pick inside the top 51, he sure ended up with a lot of quality depth and solid pieces. The Swinson pick wasn’t a homerun, it was a 3 run homer as he was the best player on the board for almost an entire round. Getting him at 135 is insane, as he’s the 35th best player in this draft. He’ll be a rotational backup but likely a dynamic one. Frazier and Paul both project as high end mutl position backups which was critical for GB and Jaylen Royals should provide good insurance if Amon Ra St Brown misses any time. Alexander will be a backup to Odighizuwa and Collins as the team’s 3rd 3T but his ability to move up and down the line, like Odighizuwa will be helpful if he misses any time. Arroyo depending on if the team trades Goedert may end up starting games this season, he’s ultra talented with huge upside. Sampson has starting caliber traits as well, he looks like he’s a draft pick for year 2 or 3 with the guys already on the roster, but nice move looking ahead at good value. I would have liked them to add more OL depth and a NT but they added a lot of quality depth which i know was the goal going into the draft based on conversations with SD. Adding 9 guys with 5th round or higher grades is a solid weekend.

GRADE: IMPROVED depth but maybe didn’t add a starter

Blockbuster Trades Shake Up 3GML Offseason

The 3GML offseason is off to a wild start, with major trades reshaping the landscape for multiple contenders. From star pass rushers swapping teams to franchise quarterbacks finding new homes, general managers are making aggressive moves to position their teams for a Super Bowl run in 2025.

Green Bay Lands Defensive Superstar Myles Garrett

The Packers made a massive splash, acquiring elite pass rusher Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for two first-round picks and a third-round selection. Garrett, a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, instantly upgrades a Green Bay defense that was already one of the league’s best.

"Adding Myles to this defense is a game-changer," said GM SD. "Pass rush wins in this league, and we just brought in one of the best to do it."

With Garrett joining Carl Granderson and Michael Pierce up front, the Packers now boast a terrifying defensive front to complement their explosive offense.

Houston Revamps Secondary, Trades Away Deebo Samuel

The Texans, looking to add defensive firepower, traded a second-round pick to Cleveland for cornerback Denzel Ward and a fourth-round pick. Ward gives Houston a true No. 1 corner to help contain the high-powered AFC offenses.

Houston also made headlines by moving on from star wide receiver Deebo Samuel. The move signals a shift in offensive philosophy for GM TH, who may be looking to surround Drake Maye with younger, cheaper playmakers as the Texans build for sustained success.

Chargers Make Bold Move for Matthew Stafford

After an up-and-down season with Will Levis, the Chargers made a blockbuster trade for veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, sending a first-round pick and WR Romeo Doubs to the Rams in exchange for Stafford and a third-round pick.

Stafford brings experience and a big arm to an offense in desperate need of consistency. With a talented roster in place, GM BD is betting that Stafford can elevate the Chargers back into contention after narrowly missing the playoffs last season.

"We believe in this team and felt like we needed a veteran presence at quarterback to take the next step," said BD.

49ers Manage Cap Crunch, Restructure Deals

San Francisco, fresh off an NFC Championship and Super Bowl appearance, is feeling the pressure of the salary cap. To create flexibility, they restructured the contracts of star safety Derwin James and WR CeeDee Lamb, freeing up space for potential offseason moves.

Additionally, the 49ers released veteran running back Jamaal Williams, a move that clears even more cap room but leaves a hole in the backfield behind Jaylen Wright. With GM CD known for creative roster-building, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the 49ers active in the coming weeks to round out their roster.

More Moves to Come?

With free agency and the draft still ahead, these moves are likely just the beginning. The 3GML landscape has already shifted dramatically, and teams are clearly in win-now mode. The question now: Who will make the next big move?
